The Winnipeg Boxer Rescue is not for profit that was founded in 1999. It is a foster based rescue that relies on volunteers.
The Winnipeg Boxer Rescue was founded by Tracy Mckay and she is also the director and main contact for the rescue. As the director, Tracy looks after all the vet bills herself and relies on donations, fundraising and the adoption fees to try and recoup some of costs.
Tracy is extremely passionate about the dogs that she cares for and genuinely cares for the people who are owned by them. As the main contact for this rescue she has huge heart for this breed (as well as many other bully and mastiff breeds) Tracy pours her heart into each and every interaction she has with the dogs and the people that she comes in contact with.
Although the goal is to find loving, healthy, happy homes for all boxers, there are some cases that the rescue can’t help, and that is heartbreaking for Tracy.
It is unfortunate that the Winnipeg Boxer Rescue is needed, and it will continue to be needed as long as people DO NOT spay or neuter their pets, breed their dogs just for fun, money or just so they can have one puppy. Responsible pet ownership is the only way to ease the strain on rescues
It is because of our amazing volunteers and fosters that we can help as many dogs as we do. When a foster family opens their home to a rescue dog, the care and support that they offer the dog is an important part in the success of that dog’s journey in finding the right furever home for them.
Our goal is to help boxers stay with their loving families, and so we also offer information about proper vet care, and try to help finding you support for behaviour issues for your pet.
If we are unable to help the boxer stay with their current family, we are here to help you rehome your pet.
We are here to help find furever homes for strays or unwanted Boxers
Winnipeg Boxer Rescue’s intention is to see less and less Boxers in need of adoption.
